The game starts with an empty board.
The game starts with an empty board. Black and white play alternating moves on the intersections of the board (black plays first).
If a stone or group of stones is surrounded, they are captured (removed from the board and counted as points at the end).
A player may pass.
If both players pass the game ends.
The board may never look exactly the same twice in a game.
Every intersection in an enclosed section counts as a point for the colour surrounding it. Any stones captured count as negative points for that colour.
White gets +6.5 for playing second.
